It’s been one week since the tragedy that occurred at the Boston Marathon and the nation is still reeling. You can’t help but tear up when you hear about the victims, the survivors, and the people who have been extraordinary in helping find shelter for those who had no other place to go.

Scrumptious Saturday- Recipe of the Week

I love wings. Hot, BBQ, Buffalo, you name it I love it. In all honestly if I had my choice of living off of one food for the rest of my life, it would be buffalo wings with ranch dressing. But of course we all know that buffalo wings aren’t the most healthiest thing you could eat. Which is why I am proud to say that I have found an alternative. Buffalo Cauliflower. Now you’re probably thinking I’m some crazy woman who is speaking nonsense and now you want nothing to do with me. But trust me these may not be as good as the real thing, but they are really freaking close. The recipe was originally posted on Self Magazine’s website, and made it’s way around Pinterest. Try the amazing recipe below and let me know how it went for you 🙂

  • 1 Cup 1% Milk
  • 3/4 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce

Dip each piece of cauliflower into the batter and allow the extra batter to drip off. Place on a greased baking sheet. Spray the tops of the florets with cooking oil. Bake for 18 minutes.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat and add the Frank’s hot sauce and stir. Toss cooked cauliflower pieces with the sauce. Put back on cookie sheet and bake for 5 to 7 more minutes in the oven. Remove and serve with a side of Blue Cheese Dressing.

DIY Photo Table Runner

diy-vintage-photo-tablerunner

When I first saw this on Ruffled Blog, I freaked out. This was the cutest, most amazing thing I have ever seen and it should be shared with the world. This idea is just too perfect! You can use this at our wedding, shower, or even use this on your kitchen table at home! Plus this can be done with postcards, letters, pages from your favorite book.

What you need:

Strip of fabric cut to length (make sure the width is thinner than you would want it to be)

Pictures that you will use (you can make copies at a printing place like Costco or print them at home on photo paper)

Hot glue gun

Starting at one end, use a hot glue gun to secure the pictures to the fabric. One small dot goes a long way. Overlap pictures and let them hang off the edges, don’t be afraid of covering up parts of the photos since you can put one of its duplicates elsewhere on the runner.

When you are about halfway through, go to the other end and start over. This way you meet nicely in the middle. And when you’re all done, wouldn’t they make a cool wall hanging in your home?
